Auckland Arts Festival

Our design strategy was simple: To put "festival" back into Auckland Arts Festival.

The challenge was to create a bilingual lockup that celebrated the history of the festival and honoured the sense of place, Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).

We created our pūrākau – Our story of a festival.
The "aaf" forms made up of maunga (climax), moana (rising action), and iwi (all who play a part).

These informed the creation of māori x bauhaus inspired patterns.
